About Me

Hi, I’m Samuel. In March 2026, I’ll set out to hike the entire Appalachian Trail — 2,194 miles from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Katahdin in Maine. This hike is more than just an adventure; it’s a personal milestone and a way to reset my life.
I’ve lived my whole life with the weight of bipolar disorder and depression. Every day has been a battle… sometimes just existing has felt impossible. The fact that I’m still here is nothing short of a miracle. There have been moments where I didn’t think I’d make it, and yet… I’m still standing.
This trek is more than a hike. It’s an expedition into the heart of who I am, a deliberate journey to confront my own mind, to wrestle with the fear and uncertainty that’s lived inside me for so long. It’s my way of proving to myself that I can set a goal, see it through, and emerge on the other side as the person I’ve always wanted to become.
I’m not just walking the trail. I’m walking toward myself.
About the Appalachian Trail
